Last April 21 of 2013, The Fashion Institute of Design and Arts held their very first Graduation Fashion Show at the Atrium at SM Lanang Premiere. This is the event where all the graduating students present a collection each as a rite for finishing their course in FIDA.
Some of the undergrads also showcased a maximum of 2 garments each and should be in white.Neil Jimlani, Gladys Buenacosta, Yvette Lopez, Nicole Calope, Catherine Autor, Julia Ilarde,Marjorie Macale, Dollie Cabahug, Arjhovic Maglasang, Jasmine Castillo, Bernadette Obiso, April Carolino and Ron Santos all shared the spotlight proving to everyone that they could be the next big things.
Here are the graduates who showcased their collection during the show:
EMILE BUENBRAZO featured his collection entitled NOMADS: PARU/ PARO. A set composed of 2 to 3 piece garments inspired tribal legends. The cuts were all classic elegant with an ethnic twist.
KRISTINE DY's MIDNITE put on the label "fierce" on an everyday working woman as she placed blazers and lady's suits on another level. She utilized the elegant black, red and midnight blue to fill up her collection.
KYRIE BANOS's METAMORPHOSIS all shocked the audience with it's playful yet alluring garments. With its bubbly colors of pink, blue and yellow, it's feels like Candy Crush on the runway.
DIANE CORPUS's collection, “SVELTE”, was my favorite among the bunch. It was classic yet elegant as she used clean cuts with admirable craftsmanship in her sewing. You can really never go wrong with white. Yet Diane put a little twist of gold in there. Awesome!
MARLON SUAN was the only designer who featured Men's wear in D CULTURE. It features an interesting take on the typical suit as Marlon put in Geometric shapes and lines in addition to colors.
WILSON LIMON (WNL) was just a blast! Every piece in the collection was just so elegantly designed. I love how he mixed up the hard and the soft element to the garments which made it so gorgeous.
